Catherine A. Caruso

  September 22, 1922 – March 3, 2017

Catherine Ann Caruso, 94, passed away at home in Lodi surrounded by her family on March 3, 2017. She was born on September 22, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to Giacomo and Josephine Trifiro. Catherine was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She worked more than 30 years as a vice principal’s secretary at Lodi and then Tokay High School. She loved going to Lake Tahoe and the casinos.

Catherine is survived by her children, Frank Caruso (Kathi), Teresa VandePol, and Tina Leach (Jack); grandchildren, Gina Davis, Rico Caruso, Zachary Leach, and Cody Leach; great grandchildren, Kaylee Caruso, Olivia Caruso, Natalie Davis, Katelyn Davis, and Oliver Davis; niece Liz Mueller, nephew Jack Pfeifer; her dear friend, Ann Donati, and her caretakers, Ermie and Gigi.

She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony (Tony) Caruso, and parents Giacomo and Josephine Trifiro.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave, Stockton CA 95204.

VISITATION

Visitation will be held 1-8 P.M. on Thursday March 9, 2017 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240. A rosary will be held at 6 P.M. that evening.

 

SERVICES

Graveside services will be held 10 A.M. on Friday March 10 at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Ln, Lodi CA.

 

 

Robert Larsen

July 18, 1939 - March 2, 2017 Robert A. Larsen, of Pioneer, CA, passed away from cancer at his home on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the age of 77. He was born in Merced, CA on July 18, 1939 to the late Trena (Olmsted) and Andrew Larsen.

Known to his friends as “Bob” or “Pecos”, he served in the U.S. Navy in the 1960’s as a Torpedoman, TM2 (SS) on the diesel submarine, USS Spinax (SS 489), during the Vietnam War. A man of many talents, he spent the next thirty years as a cartoonist / artist, working independently and for Creative Publications and Lockheed Martin in the San Jose area. He excelled in his field doing everything from illustrating children’s books, cartoon strips, greeting cards and even outer space simulation. Pecos was a proud member of several motorcycle, veteran and submarine associations. Friends will remember his main passion was his Harley and his love of the open road.

Bob is survived by his sister, Joy Perkins, of Stockton, CA; and nephews, Steve Perkins, of Temecula, CA, Ken Perkins, of Stockton, CA, and Todd Perkins, of Gig Harbor WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trena (Olmsted) and Andrew Larsen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bob’s name to the Cancer Research Institute or the Gary Sinise Foundation.

SERVICES Services will take place in the Garden of Freedom at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA. on March 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM.

William Stanley Long

William Stanley Long June 2, 1931-February 25, 2017

William Stanley Long, loving son of the late Lena Marolf Long and Charles Christopher Long. William was born on June 2, 1931.  A native of French Camp, he passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at his home.  Mr. Long was 85 years old.

William attended French Camp Elementary School and Manteca High School.  During his life, he worked on the family farm with his brother, Henry.  Mr. Long was proud to serve in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.  Following his service, William rejoined his brother and they worked together growing a successful farming operation, Long Brothers' Farm.  His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, and golfing with friends and family.  He also enjoyed membership and activities with the Native Sons and Bersaglieri Clubs.

Mr. Long leaves behind his beloved wife Irene, to whom he was devoted to for 59 years.  He is also survived by his older brother, Henry Long, his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Richard Nassano, and his cherished grandson, Evan.

VISITATION

A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 3, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cherokee Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240.

Private committal.

Simon Leiva

Simon G. Leiva, age 88, passed away at his home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, February 21st 2017. He was born March 3rd, 1928, in Porterville, CA, he was a long-time resident of Stockton, CA. Simon was preceded in death by his loving wife Sarah, married 49 years. Also preceded in death by his son Ted Leiva, and grandson Isaiah Leiva. He leaves behind a legacy of 7 children; Belen (Francisco) Cardenas, Raymond (Gloria) Leiva, Becky (Steve) Villanueva, Naomi (Manuel) Harding, Vickie (Roque) Gevara, Greg (Julie) Leiva, Anthony (Rocio) Leiva, and Daughter-in-law Donna Leiva. Simon had 36 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.   Simon made his career as a truck driver. He loved gardening, taking the family on car rides, and was always ready to tell a joke.   The Leiva family rejoices in the long life he was blessed with and finds peace in knowing he is celebrating in eternity with Jesus Christ.  

VISITATION

Services will be held in his honor at Crossroads of the Valley Church, 3514 E. Main St. in Stockton on Monday, February 27, 2017.  Viewing will be held from 3pm-6pm with services at 6pm.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28,2017 at Crossroads of the Valley Church, 3514 E. Main St. in Stockton at 10am.

INTERMENT

Burial will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi, California.

John William Seay

Passed on February 13, 2017, at the age of 81. John is survived by his son Timmy Seay, Step-children Louie Morones Jr., David Florita (Maureen), Sandra Valverde (Steve), James Pamplin (Jeana), 16 Grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Lupe Seay and Evelyn Seay, son James, daughter Lonnie, step-son Joseph Morones, his sisters Alberta Bray and Dolores Crane. John was hardworking and devoted to his family and will be dearly missed. SERVICES

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, February 21st at 1:00 pm at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery located off of Highway 99 and Harney Ln. in Lodi. Reception to follow at Stockton Alliance Church 825 Highmoor Ave. Stockton, CA.
