Otto Robert Nietschke

Loving Father, Grandpa and Papa, Otto Nietschke was called home by the Lord on March 31, 2016 at the age of 84. He will be missed by family and dear friends. Born September 21, 1931 in Norris, South Dakota, Otto married Shirley Sifferman on September 12, 1954. They made Lodi their home. He enjoyed raising and caring for animals, including cattle and many types of birds. He loved life on the farm and work was his play.
Otto boxed in high school and earned the name “Nails” and was undefeated. He entered into the Army in 1953 and served as a Sergeant till 1960.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and held many offices on the council over the years. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Nietschke, son Michael Nietschke; grandson Eric Nietschke, brother Paul Nietschke, and sister Dena Mettler.
He is survived by his son David (Maridee) Nietschke, son Steven (Satoko) Nietschke, daughter in law Donna Nietschke, and his grandchildren Tammy (Tom) Drescher, Matthew Nietschke, Ashli Nietschke, Sean Nietschke, and Sena Nietschke. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Troy Drescher and Tambria Drescher and sisters, Erna Quashnick, Martha Baker and Elma Storm, and long time companion Joyce Griffen.
VISITATION
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 1-6pm at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 4pm on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 N. Elderberry Ct, Lodi, Ca 95242.
October 20, 1953, Jeannette attended Franklin High, and retired from St. Mary’s Dining Hall and Stockton Emergency Food Bank as a pantry clerk.
Jeannette leaves behind her children, Angela Simon, Jeffrey Zarate, Jr, Sarah Almazan, and grandchildren, Andrew Klein, Thomas Stallkamp, Joseph Stallkamp, Christian Reyes, Elias Estrada, Roxanne Stallkamp, Abram Almazan, and Emilio Almazan. She will also be missed by her sisters, Carolyn Schneider and Nancy Brumbaugh.
away on March 3, 2016 in Oakland, CA. She was born to parents Rosalyn and Richard Lucas on May 31, 1920. The decision Alys made at 8 years of age to ask Jesus to be her Savior, formed the direction of her life. She and her family were members of Bethel Open Bible Church. Graduating from Lodi High with top honors in 1936 at age 16, she chose to pursue Biblical training at Bible Standard College in Eugene, OR. Her future husband Harvey Klapstein of Lodi, also graduated from the same school. They were married in Lodi in 1940. During their 60-year marriage, they served together in many types of Christian ministry. Alys always cared for others in her roles as a Bible College teacher and Dean of Women, missionary, pastor’s wife, and head of Open Bible’s Women’s Ministries on the West Coast. Alys was also a credentialed minister with Open Bible Standard Churches for 70 plus years.
