Nancy Ann Mann
Nancy Ann Mann passed away at a local hospital on June 28, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born November 8, 1924 in Modesto to Edward and Katherine Mitchell. She attended local schools and served in the Navy during World War II, being honorably discharged on May 17, 1946, after which she met and married Walter Jerome “Jerry” Mann on March 30, 1947. Together they had three sons. The family moved to Lodi in 1959, where she and Jerry owned Mann’s Pharmacy in downtown Lodi. She sold the pharmacy following her husband’s death in 1970, later working for several years at Woolworth’s department store and Wilson’s Pharmacy.
Nancy was an avid tennis player, maintaining memberships in the Modesto Racquet Club and Sun West (Twin Arbors) Athletic Club. She continued her athletic activities into her late eighties, going to the gym three times a week. She had many friends, all of whom could attest to her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry; parents Edward and Katherine Mitchell; and brother Edward “Jack” Mitchell. She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Sherry) Mann of Nevada, Steve (Jill) Mann of Lodi; and Mark Mann of Lodi. She also leaves grandchildren Luke Mann, Katy Mann, Kelly Michaels, Amanda Mann; and numerous great grandchildren.
SERVICES
There will be no service, as Nancy requested. Internment will be private. Donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the Salvation Army or your favorite charity.

A. Joyce Marker
Joyce Marker went home to the Lord on June 25, 2016. She was born in 1930 to Tim and Alice Ko, in Hanford, California. Joyce spent her early years in Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno. She married Robert Marker in 1953 and moved over the next 21 years to many different states as well as Taiwan while Bob served in the military. Joyce was a remarkable mom and homemaker with a creative spirit that came alive in her cooking and artwork. In her free time, she painted, sketched, and sewed. And in everything she did, Joyce radiated a powerful faith in Jesus Christ and lived her life serving him. She and Bob settled in Lodi in 1974, spending their retirement years serving in their church, caring for family, and being part of all their grandchildren’s activities. She dearly loved visiting the Northern California coast, and hosting family gatherings and holiday celebrations.
Joyce is survived by her dear husband, Bob; and her children, Lynne, Timothy (Claire), Gail (Frank); grandchildren Jennifer (Morel), Annika (Alex), Brittany, Patrick, Jessica; and great-grandchildren Sophia, Emma and Olivia.
SERVICES
Services will be held at 6pm, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church Lodi, 267 N. Mills Avenue. Relatives and friends are sincerely welcome to come celebrate Joyce’s life. Memorial contributions are welcome for the Salvation Army-Lodi, 525 W. Lockeford Street, Lodi, CA 95240.

Kevin Adam Kuntz
Kevin Adam Kuntz of Antioch, CA died Monday June 20, 2016 in Antioch, CA. He was 57. Mr. Kuntz was born March 7, 1959, in Mandan, ND.
He is survived by his wife Regina, stepdaughters, Rachel (Dave) Riddle; Theresa (Matt) DeMartini; Marie Magennis (Frank Reyes); Brandy (Devin) Hammer; six grandchildren, Alexis, Adrianna, Jazzlynn, Vanessa, Maxwell and Elliana.
He is also survived by his mother, Angeline Kuntz; brothers, Kelly Kuntz; Keith Kuntz; Kip (Niccole) Kuntz; sisters, Wanda (Bryan) Maddock; Larie (Donald) Durham; nieces Tonya, Ashley; nephews, Greg (Karen); Matt (Mariah); Wyatt, Trace and Christopher; and great-nephews RayShawn, Troy, Brady and Kase.
He was preceded in death by his father Herman Kuntz.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Lockeford, CA.

Gladys Duncan
Gladys Duncan, 87, of Lodi, was welcomed into our Father’s loving arms on Friday, June 17, 2016. Gladys was born on November 22, 1928 in South Dakota to Theodore and Christina Wolff. She has one brother Gary Wolff (Shirley).
She married Julius Kiesz in 1945 and they had three daughters: Juliet Uehling (Ken) of San Diego, Rosilyn Gaudet of Lodi, and Kathryn Trumbull (Rob) of Moses Lake, WA. She married John Duncan in 1969.
She was passionate about education. After receiving a GED, she attended college where she earned degrees and credentials in Elementary Education and Pupil Personnel Services. She taught several years in South Dakota before moving to Lodi in 1961 to begin her career with Lodi Unified School District. She taught at both Bruella and Victor Schools in the Lodi area. She tutored many children even after her retirement.
Her many activities included sewing, knitting, embroidery, dancing, traveling and painting. She was an active member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Ryan Uehling, Fresno, CA, Catherine Griffin (Eric), Walnut Creek, CA, Garrett Gaudet (Beth), Lodi, CA, Kevin Gaudet (Kirsten), Truckee, CA, Heidi Brummond (Nick), Anderson, CA, Troy Holden, Los Angeles, CA, step grandsons Jacob Trumbull, Redding, CA and Joshua Trumbull, Sacramento, CA. And ten great grandchildren.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Christopher Gaudet, and great granddaughter, Skylar Gaudet.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gladys’ life at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant Ave. in Lodi on Friday, July 1 at 11:00 a.m. A reception in the church fellowship hall will follow immediately . Monte Bauer
Monte J Bauer, loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend, passed away on June 16, 2016. He was 75 years old
and died from complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare, debilitating and terminal disease having no treatment or cure.
Monte was born on a stormy night in the back of a barbershop during a blizzard in Bowdon, North Dakota on January 24, 1941, to Harry and Catherine Bauer His younger sister Jonell McVey would soon follow. The family thereafter moved from North Dakota to Eureka Street in Lodi, California
While attending Lodi High he met Ann Armstrong and after graduation they married and had two children, Michael and Karyn.
He attended Sacramento State University while working and raising his family He earned his BS in Accounting. He later became a Certified Public Accountant. He was partners with Charlie Hahn and later Tony Zupo. Accordingly, he was never seen until midnight on April 15 each year.
After Ann and Monte parted ways, Monte married Judy Chamberlain and was married to her for 28 years They resided in Modesto. Monte and Judy enjoyed traveling and sports, often combining a fun vacation with tickets to a sporting event, including trips to the Australian Open, the French Open, the U.S. Open and Wimbledon, also known as tennis’ Grand Slam.
Monte was an avid bicyclist and he often rode around Lake Tahoe and from Modesto to Bear Valley. He loved to hike and ski. He hiked Mt. Whitney in his 60s. He was a true kid at heart. He once took his grandkids to every park in Modesto, with an ice cream sundae eating race to follow. He won!
Monte will be remembered as a passionate sports fan and could be found yelling at the TV if things weren’t going his teams’ way.
He loved the SF Giants, the Golden State Warriors and the 49ers. He was good natured and kind with a competitive edge. He was active and always willing to try new things and see new places.
Monte is survived by loving children Michael Bauer and Karyn Battershell (Rick), sister, Jonell McVey, grandchildren Devan McClaine, (April), Katy Ravazza, (Charlie) and Christian Bauer (Jessica), and four beautiful great-grandchildren, Paizly, Reef and Koa Ravazza and Jack McClaine; former wife Judy Chamberlain, and step-daughter Renee’ Santos (William). He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Catherine Bauer, brother-in-law Denny McVey and first wife Ann Bauer.

Donald “Don” G. Mize
Don G. Mize passed away June 13, 2016 in Modesto at the age of 80. Born and raised in the Modesto area, he worked for many years at both the Napa and Stockton State Hospitals. He was the owner of the Victory Fountain Restaurant in Stockton in the 60’s and 70’s. He is survived by his 3 sons, his grandchildren and 2 sisters.

Jerry Dean MooreWas born on January 15, 1933 in Emporia, Kansas. Passed away on June 12, 2016 in Pine Grove, California. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Joy Moore, two children Jerry Dennis Moore, Lori McIntyre, three grand children Anthony and Brodie Diaz and Nathan Moore and 2 great grand children Mia and Breanna Diaz.
Jerry retired from PG&E after working there for over 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ throughout his life and was a kind and gentle man.
