He graduated from Stockton High and was drafted into the United States Army shortly after. He was stationed in Japan. After the army, Ernie joined his two brothers, Louie and Lawrence, in the family business, Marino Bros. Trucking Co.

In 1950, he met his wife Marie on a blind date. They were married on April 1, 1955. This year would mark their 63rd wedding anniversary.

Ernie is survived by the love of his life, Marie Marino; son Dale Marino and wife Melanie (grandson Brandon Marino and wife Candi; granddaughter Stacy Siville and husband Kevin; grandson Nicholas Marino and wife Tzitzitlini); son Daniel Marino (grandson Justin Marino and wife Kelsey; granddaughter Kelsey Marino); and son Mark Marino and wife Trisha (granddaughters Taylor and Lauren Marino). Ernie’s love of family was evident every time he held one of his 4 great grandchildren, Trevor, Carson, Audrina and Robert.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents Michele and Angelina Marinucci (the last name was changed to Marino after immigrating to America). He is also preceded in death by his brothers Louie and Frank, and sister Georgia. He is survived by his brother Lawrence and sister Marge, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Once retired, Ernie spent much of his time in the garden with his brother Lawrence. He took great pride in his Italian heritage both as a member of Liguri Nel Mondo as well as attending Italian events held by the IAC and the Gun and Bocce Club. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge. He and Marie enjoyed traveling across country in their motorhome and were members of the Tracy Wildlife Association and the National Motorcoach Association. Many memorable family vacations were spent at their Lake Tahoe timeshare.

Ernie will be remembered as the loving patriarch of the Marino Family. He was happiest when surrounded by family. Our Ernie will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
