Richard Wilson

May 29, 1945 - June 19, 2019

Richard G. Wilson passed away June 19, 2019 at his home in Lodi at the age of 74. He was born to Mabel F. and Charles H Wilson on May 29, 1945. He served his country honorably in the US Army and retired from the telecommunications industry. He was currently a co-owner of Little One Trucking.
Richard will be remembered as a gentleman, loyal, caring – a true friend who always put others before himself. He enjoyed working on his ranch, gardening, and truly loved his Peruvian Paso Horses.
He is survived by his wife Debra Vestal; brother James Wilson; and by 4 step-grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Faith Taylor, Chandler Taylor and Kristalyn Taylor.
He now joins his parents who preceded him in death.
Private graveside services were held at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Sheila Benzon (Brenneise)

May 30, 1954 - June 19, 2019

Sheila Mae Benzon (Brenneise), 65, of Stockton CA, beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and cousin passed away on June 19, 2019 in a Stockton hospital.  She was surrounded by loving family on the eve of her passing, and her beloved son Marc Santos was with her at her bedside as she entered into eternal life peacefully at 3:40 AM.

Sheila was born and raised in Stockton, CA, and she remained a Stockton resident throughout her life.  Sheila graduated from A.A. Stagg High School with the Class of 1972.  She later earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from San Joaquin Delta College in January of 1983.  Sheila worked as a Registered Nurse at San Joaquin General Hospital and later at the San Joaquin County Jail for a total of 26 years before retiring in 2009.  Sheila could have worked in the private sector for higher pay, but said she felt that working for the County was her way to give back to the local community that had helped her stay on her feet in her earlier years.  On her weekends off, Sheila enjoyed spending time with family as well as going out dancing, winning several contests in her dancing days.  During her retirement, Sheila enjoyed cooking, watching and going to San Francisco Giants games, classic rock concerts, and movies.  She also continued on with her caregiving spirit, volunteering locally at St. Mary’s Dining Hall.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Alma Brenneise, brother Larry Brenneise, and niece Karoline Brenneise.  Sheila is survived by her son, Marc Santos of Stockton, CA, brother and sister-in-law Chester and Sharon Brenneise of Stockton, CA, brother Dennis Brenneise of Peoria, AZ, sister-in-law Sara Brenneise of Costa Mesa, CA, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In honor of Sheila’s memory and passion for helping the homeless, charitable donations of money, time, or goods may be made to St. Mary’s Dining Hall in Stockton, CA.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 8:30am - 10:00am at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off  Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

SERVICE

A service will be held following the visitation on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 10:00am at the Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Marilyn Peck

January 30, 1931 - June, 16, 2019

Marilyn Brooks Peck went home to Jesus on June 16, 2019 at the age of 88.

Marilyn was born to Edmond (Edison) and Esther Brooks on January 30, 1931 in Turlock, California.

Marilyn met her husband Auguste Francis Peck, Jr. (Frank) while they were both students at Cal Berkeley. They married in 1952 and were married for 63 treasured years. Both Marilyn and Frank lived to almost the exact same age- 88 years 136 days for Frank and 88 years 137 days for Marilyn.

Throughout her life Marilyn held an unwavering faith in God and love for people which she shared with everyone around her. This is her powerful legacy to her family and friends.

Marilyn joins her husband, parents, and daughter-in-law in heaven. She is survived by her son Dennis Neil Peck (Julie-deceased), daughter Sharon Peck Calamusa (Michael), grandchildren Shane Peck (Holly), Christina Jennings (Michael), Lori Lacy (Nicholas), Casey Calamusa (Kate) and Jenna Calamusa. Marilyn also is survived by her sister Elinore Miller, 12 awesome great grandchildren, and many loving relatives.

A Service will be held for Marilyn on Friday, July 6th, 2019 at 2:00p.m. at Evergreen Chapel in Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

David Jackson

October 5, 1959- June 15, 2019

It is with great sadness that the family of David Garrison Jackson of Lodi, CA announces his passing on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the age of 59. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hazel Jackson, father Howard Jackson, daughter Melissa Jackson and sister Laura Smith (William), step children Matthew, Paul and Krysta and 5 grandchildren. David is predeceased by his Mother Sally. He will also be dearly remembered by his extended family and wonderful friends.

David was born Oct. 5, 1959 and raised in Stockton, CA. Graduated from Tokay High, Lodi in 1977. David was extremely talented in woodworking and had a gift for working on every type of motor or engine. His passions were riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, boats and race cars and mechanically tinkering.
David will be greatly missed by all that loved him.

Edward McComb

September 22, 1942 - June 13, 2019

Edward J McComb, age 76 of Stockton, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday June 13, 2019 after his battle with Cancer. He was born in French Camp and grew up in Stockton, CA. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1961-1966. Ed is survived by his beloved wife Patricia M. McComb of 57 years and his children; daughter Sheryl Botello (Jaime), son, Anthony McComb (Barbara) and his youngest daughter, Debbie Higuera (Ariel). He is also survived by his sister Nylene Barbee (Robert) of Lodi, CA.

He will forever be cherished by his 5 grandchildren; Vicki Watt (Sean), James Botello (Shyla), Tiffany Palacio-Barrales (Juan), Courtney Palacio and Marissa Palacio-Miranda (Junior). He was also dearly loved by his 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Edward J. McComb, his mother Florence Lewis, brother Ronald G. McComb and his sisters Darlene Caruso and Sandra Abbott. Ed was known to be a devoted family man, but everyone who knew him knew that Pat was the love of his life and the reason for everything he did. He was deeply loved by his family and his memory will forever be etched in who we are.

Gilbert A. Ceseña, Sr.

September 13, 1937 - June 12, 2019

Gilbert Cesena, 81, passed away June 12, 2019. He was a lifelong resident of Stockton, graduating from St. Mary’s High School before joining the Air Force in 1955. After completing his 4 years in the Military he went to Barber College and ultimately began his 60 year career at Growers Styling Salon on Wilson Way. Gilbert could never bring himself to retire and was manning his barber chair and cutting hair up to a few days before he was hospitalized.

Gilbert is survived by his wife Gloria, whom he married in May of 1960, his five children; Rodney (Marsha), Gilbert Jr., Derek, Greg and Michelle (Aaron) Cordell. His two grandsons; Rodney Ceseña and Devin Cordell. His sister-in-law and brother-in-law Vivian and Gilbert Pimentel and sisters-in-laws; Delia Ceseña, Mary Ceseña and Gail Ceseña, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Gilbert was proceeded in death by his father and his mother, Arthur and Virginia and his four brothers, Salvador, Henry, Arthur and Ralph.

SERVICE

Please join us for a Celebration of Gilbert’s life on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 10:00 am at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, 1663 E. Main Street, Stockton, CA. followed by burial at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Dorinda Givens

01/17/1944 - 06/11/2019

Dorinda Givens, 75, passed away on June 11, 2019 in Stockton, CA after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was in her home and surrounded by her family, along with her husband of 44 years, Emmitt Walter Givens.  Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, she was the daughter of Donald Woodrow and Dorothy Jo Jacobs.  She graduated from Lincoln High School and, while she held various jobs over the years, she completed her career with Central Sales and Leasing.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Dorothy, her sister, Donalee Derry, and her daughter, Patricia Givens. 

 Dorinda is survived by her husband, Walt Givens, her children, Kevin Vallem (Tracie), Michele Pettersen (Scott), Emily Alamillo and Paula Givens (Brook), her sister, Diana Starr (Jack) and countless other family members who loved her dearly, as she did them.  Dorinda’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life was her family. Over the years, her home was always filled with the laughter and love of her 5 children, 3 bonus children, 13 grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

In one of her last journal entries, she wrote, “My journey is almost complete. I am homeward bound.  The love of my family has helped me through.  I’ve smiled, I’ve laughed and I’ve cried.  My heart is full of love for all. I pray you’ll remember me.’  

Her family extends great love and gratitude to Nurse Annika, Nurse Wayne and Home Health Aid, Jazmin, for their incredibly loving and respectful care of her over the last year. A private celebration of life will take place with family and close friends.

The Warriors for Jesus Motorcycle Ministry believes that the best way to help end the cycle of poverty, crime and substance abuse is to take a proactive approach to outreach. They regularly go into the community and feed the homeless, providing them with clothing and packages containing basic hygienic necessities. In addition, they partner with Bread of Life and the Fellowship Church Community to provide free groceries to impoverished families. They also minister at several recovery programs throughout the county and operate two vans providing free transportation to and from church services.
