Norma Statham

December 11, 1931 - August 8, 2020

Born on Dec 11th , 1931 in Paradise, Texas she was the youngest daughter of 8 children, 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Norma spent most of her youth in Texas. World War 2 was breaking out and the family moved West to California. This is where Norma finished her youth. As a young woman Norma married, divorced and on her own sent two daughters to Catholic school, bought a home, worked as head clerk of GEM. These were milestones for a woman in that era.

“On Blueberry Hill” Norma met the love of her life, Hoyt Statham. They brought two families together Norma with Jennifer and Cindy. Hoyt with Randy, Mike, and Patti. Norma and Hoyt, both worked at Emby’s Foods and eventually bought out the grocery store and changed the name to Hoyt Foods.

Retired at 50 nothing made her happier than having their family near. Together Norma and Hoyt enjoyed traveling with the Good Sam’s club, fishing, golfing, gambling and playing cards with family and friends. When Hoyt died, she remained a strength and comfort to the family they had built. Norma loved being active. In addition to the things Norma had enjoyed with Hoyt she added to her circle of friends by engaging in other activities, Bunco, Red Hats, Tai Chi and going to plays.

The last remaining years of her life was enhanced by her caregiver Alishia, she was a dear friend and companion. This cannot end without mentioning her love for her doggie bear that though stinky brightened her days. Norma enjoyed staying as active as she could until she fell asleep in death peacefully on 8/8/2020 leaving behind a beautiful legacy of loving memories.

Sally Lemke

January 31, 1946 - August 5, 2020

On August 5th we lost our beloved wife, mother, and friend. Our hearts are broken. She was unable to overcome infection acquired in the hospital after heart surgery.

She was a remarkable woman who led an extraordinary life. We will miss her loving heart, sense of humor, and genuine interest in life and the people in it.

After graduation from the University of Wisconsin in 1968, Sally went to work as a systems analyst for the Defense Department in Battle Creek, Michigan. In 1969 she married her husband Bob, who she met in college. He was transferred to San Diego in 1977 and she went to work as a systems trainer at General Dynamics. In 1983 his job took them to Pago Pago, American Samoa where she immersed herself in island culture and life. Their son Jonathan was born in 1985 and a year later they returned to California, settling in Woodbridge.

She was interested and active in education and academics, and served on the School Board of St. Anne's School. She co-directed the science olympiad and academic pentathlon programs and directed the bingo program to raise funds for the school. After her son's graduation from high school she worked as an office manager for San Joaquin County Mental Health in Tracy. She and her husband were married for 51 years and traveled extensively during their careers and after retirement.

We will miss her dearly, but are so grateful we were able to share in her remarkable life. She is survived by her husband; their son, Jonathan; and daughter-in-law, Berit. She will also be missed by her brother,Lee Verheyen and his wife, Mary Lou of San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Sue Allcox of DePere, Wisconsin; her in-laws, Ron and Sue Lemke, Glenn and Yvonne Lemke, and Judi Lemke; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend Susan Shamber.

It was her wish to have her body donated to science and we will do our best to comply. If you would like to remember her, please perform an act of kindness for a child or donate in her name to your favorite educational program.

Please leave your condolences below.

Clifford Edward (Eddie) Stearns Jr. November 18, 1942 - August 2, 2020

Eddie was born in Stockton, CA, on Novemeber 18, 1942. He got his hot rod wings, at the age of 77 on August 2, 2020. He passed away from respiratory distress, caused by COVID, which he contracted from the hospital, while recovering from a fall.

Eddie lived in Stockton his entire life. He loved sports and in High School he lettered in all the sports he played. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1960. Eddie"s passion was working on cars, boats, hot rods, anything with a motor. He was a mechanic for Tillie Lewis and Del Monte For for 40 years until his retirement in 2002. Eddie was a member of both the car clubs, the Good-Guys, his entire life, and the Franklin Syndicate of Stockton, CA for many years. Eddie loved everything about cars; building them, washing them, and going to every car show he could find. If it wasn't a car show then it was a NHRA drag race or the boat drags.

Eddie is survived by his only daughter, Kimi Rosen (Marty) and one granddaughter, Madison Rosen. He also raised a stepson, Jason Leggitt (Angie) whom he loved dearly. Eddie was a hard working man. He loved to find great restaurants to eat at, no matter what town we were in, he knew just where to go. Eddie was always there for his family. He was one of the good guys , his word was everything.

Per his wishes, Eddie wanted to be creamated and did not want a service.

Until we meet again, Dad, we love you. We will miss your wisdom and laugh.
