Betty Busarow

January 30, 1940 - November 13, 2023

Betty Jane was born to Ray William Bloom and Dorothy Brooks Bloom on January 30, 1940 in Clinton Oklahoma. She attended Elementary School in Custer County Oklahoma. After the tornado hit their farmhouse, they decided to re-locate out west toward California.

After arriving in California, they purchased their home and settled in Hayward along with her brother Billy Ray Bloom and sister Catherine Bloom Gregory. Betty attended and graduated from San Lorenzo High in 1958. She later attended business college where she took office-management and accounting courses.

She married Edward James Busarow on Aug 14th of 1960. They had a daughter, Deborah Bloom and a son David Busarow. The family resided in Hayward until moving to Lodi in 1980.

Her family included grandchildren Jamie & (Mike) Cates and Jeff & (Jen) Kalani. She also had many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and others that she had picked herself, that were close enough to her heart, to be considered family.

Along with other family members, they purchased land in the Acampo area.

Betty worked as a Bookkeeper for Lodi Tent & Awning for 42 years before finally retiring just a short time ago.

Religion always played a “HUGE” role in Betty’s life. She attended and played a large part at Lodi Avenue Baptist church and the Salvation Army. She helped in the nursery, Sunday school classes and Vacation Bible school at Lodi Baptist Church. She also led and was a supporter of the groups at Alanon.

Betty Jane was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother aunt and sister. She had a generous kind soul who was loved by many. She played a “MAJOR” part in the lives of Terry, (Michael) and The Boy’s. She was warmly referred to as “Our Favorite Aunt Betsy”.

Betty’s favorite things included spending time with the children in the family, lovingly referred to as “Granny Wednesdays”. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting and maintaining the Acampo property and listening to Dr. Stanley.

The health challenges she faced over the last year were very difficult on her. She did her best to battle her health struggles and keep a positive outlook on life. However, she stated numerous times that she was ready to go be with the Lord.

May she Rest in Peace, suffer no more and never be forgotten.

Jane Terry

August 2, 1953 - November 11, 2023

Jane Elizabeth Marez was born on Sunday, August 2, 1953 to Mary Rita Gonzales and Ruben Eleazer Marez at East Oakland Hospital in Oakland,California. Her older siblings, Diane Norma, Jack Ruben, Harry Elmer and John David eagerly awaited the arrival of their little sister. Jane remained the youngest for 7 years, until the birth of her younger brother, Dale Anthony Marez. Jane married at the age of 18 and had her first child at the age of 19, Juanita followed  by Frankie and Anthony Casillas.

Later, in the 80’s Jane met, then married, the love of her life, Roy Joseph Terry, Sr. They lived a happy life together with their blended family, consisting of Roy Jr., Juanita, Frankie and Anthony in Hayward, California. Roy and Jane had the type of banter that someone on the outside wouldn’t understand, but their love was undeniably strong and true.Roy and Jane were married for over 30 years until his death in 2016.

Jane briefly worked various jobs at Storm Products, where she worked with Roy until she retired in 1993 to take care of her first grandchild, Jasmine Renee. Throughout the years, she would take care of her grandchildren.

Jane enjoyed gathering with her friends and family. Her kitchen was always filled with food for expected and unexpected visits from family and friends. Jane enjoyed cooking, shopping (mostly for food) and reading. Mostly, she enjoyed going camping and spending summers with Roy and the kids at the beach. It was always crowded in the back of Roy’s green Gremlin, but it was always fun. We had more than what we needed for those trips. The Terry household was like a revolving door for anyone who needed a place to stay. We didn't have much, but we had enough for whoever needed it.

Jane could make people feel different ways but mostly she made them feel loved. She held many titles; Daughter, Sister, Friend and Auntie. If you were to ask her, she’d say her most honored titles would be Wife. Mom. Grandma. Lola. Great-Grandma. Jane’s beautiful smile & laughter will be missed.

Sadly, Jane Elizabeth Terry’s health failed over the years. She succumbed to her health issues on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at the age of 70. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Terry Sr., her grandson, Anthony Casillas Jr., her brother, Dale Anthony Marez and her parents, Ruben and Rita Marez.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Juanita Vermette and her husband Shawn; son, Frankie Casillas and his wife, Leticia; son, Anthony Casillas Sr., and his wife Senaida; son, Roy Terry Jr. and his wife Michele; grandchildren, Jasmine and her husband, Miguel, Alyssa, Celia, Brandee, Anthony Jr.’s fiancé, Carissa, Alejandro, Vanessa, Angelina, Adriana, and Tyler; Great-Grandchildren, Christopher, Sergio, Eva, Andrew, Kassia. Matheus, Santiago and Liliana.
