Mark Lucas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Lucas, age 72, on July 20th, 2024. Born on July 1, 1952, in Tracy, CA, Mark lived a rich and fulfilling life in Stockton, raising his family and leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Mark attended Lincoln High School and later studied at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He had an illustrious career in operations and management, dedicating 40 years to his work worldwide. His professional accomplishments were matched by his remarkable personal traits.

Mark was a husband, father, grandfather and friend with a captivating personality. Funny, charismatic, intelligent, and handy, he was the epitome of wit and humor. Known for his hilarious dad jokes, Mark always had a knack for making everyone around him laugh.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Nancy Lucas; his daughter, Jennifer Boras; son-in-law, Michael; and two cherished granddaughters, Teagan and Riley. Mark was an avid San Francisco Giants fan, enjoyed playing bocce ball, and loved cracking a good joke. Mark’s whole life was dedicated to his family, and he always showed up for those he loved, bringing joy and humor into every moment.

Mark Lucas will be forever remembered for his ability to bring joy, his unwavering commitment to loved ones, and his infectious sense of humor. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Robert Lee Borsdorf Jr.

Robert Lee Borsdorf Jr.
October 28, 1941 - July 16, 2024

Robert Lee Borsdorf Jr., known to all as “Bob,” passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, with family by his side.

Bob was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 28, 1941, to Robert L. Borsdorf Sr. and Gertrude E. Borsdorf. He was the eldest of their four children, survived by his brothers John Borsdorf (Carol) and Thomas Borsdorf (Sue Lockington). He was preceded in death by his father Robert, mother Gertrude, brother James Borsdorf, and sister-in-law Nancy Borsdorf.

Bob was raised in Carmichael, CA, graduating from El Camino High School, Class of 1960, and attended California State University, Sacramento. In 1972, Bob became a resident of Stockton, CA, where he resided for 52 years.

On December 22, 1979, Bob married his beloved wife, Genevieve “Jenny.” Together, they raised a blended family of five children: his son Robert L. Borsdorf III (Olga), daughter Dawn Walker (Gary), stepson Steven Herrera, and stepdaughters Mercy Walker (Brian) and Grace Smith (Michael). Their union blessed them with eight grandchildren, Samantha Sangalang Colburn, Katherine Herrera, Robert L. Borsdorf IV, Kristen Walker, Lauren Walker, Natalie Borsdorf, Jessica Walker, and Alex Walker, as well as three great-grandchildren: Joel Arellano, Madalyn Colburn, and Clover Kolberg.

Bob was dedicated to work throughout his life, retiring only in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He pursued a building and facilities management career and owned his own custodial business, taking great pride in his profession and work relationships.

Outside of work, Bob and Jenny enjoyed traveling and volunteering together, and attending San Francisco Giants games and rock concerts. His favorite pastimes also included collecting model trains, visiting train stations, watching historical documentaries, listening to music, and decorating for his family at Christmas.

Bob was known for his quick wit and ability to bring laughter into any moment. His warm smile and humor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Anna Thomson

January 31, 1955 - July 16, 2024

Anna Juanita Thomson, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on July 16th 2024 in Lodi, California. Anna was born on January 31st, 1955 in Madera, California. She was adopted and raised by Ken and Betty Thomson. After moving from Madera to Mokelumne Hill, California she attended San Andreas High School and went on to work part time but mostly a stay at home mom and housewife. Anna is survived by husband of 29 , Ron Silack, her children Tamie Roberts, Donnie Grimes, John Parker, Robbie Heinitz, Robby Castellon, Jasmine Andrade, and acquired by marriage daughter Krystal Duarte; her grandchildren Jason Fitch, Hope Barton, Kylie Pugh, Makendrea Grimes, Peyton Grimes, Karsyn Grimes, Patrick Parker, Jeric Parker, Talisa Heinitz, Preston Heinitz, Parker Castellon, Regina Castellon, and Ciara Andrade, Phineas Duarte, and Josie Duarte; her 8 great grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. Preceded in death by her parents Ken and Betty, brother Ernie, and son Jason. A memorial service will be held on July 27th, 2024 at 2:00pm in Lodi at the Faith Community Church 18621 N Hwy 99, Acampo, Ca. 95220. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anna's life. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donation be made to Anna’s favorite charity, City of Lodi Animal Services. Anna will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Her love and kindness will live on in our hearts forever.

Kay Briski

Kay (Sjosten) Briski
September 2, 1936 – July 13, 2024

Kay (Sjosten) Briski passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024, in San Jose, Ca.

Kay was born on September 2, 1936, to Arnold and Tillie Sjosten in Lodi, CA. She attended local schools and graduated with honors from Lodi Union High School in 1954. She was a life member of the California Scholarship Federation.

The family relocated to Stockton, where Kay began her career with the Stockton Chamber of Commerce. She held various positions of increasing responsibility and was eventually named Manager of the Stockton Convention and Visitors Bureau. During that time, she was also elected President of the California Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau for two terms.

Kay’s love of the ocean was a major factor in her decision to move to Oxnard, CA and accept the position as Manager of the Oxnard Convention and Visitors Bureau in 1977. From there she went on to start up a convention and visitors bureau in Culver City, CA, and continued to be active with convention and tourism organizations. She later served as the Executive Director of the Venice Boardwalk and Merchants Association, working with domestic and international travel writers and tour operators.

In 2003, Kay changed careers and went to work for the Ventura branch of the Auto Club of Southern California where she worked for 16 years until her retirement in 2019. In 2017, she was named Region One’s employee of the year. Upon retirement, Kay moved from Oxnard to San Jose, CA, to be near her daughter.

Kay was a long-time member of the Coastline Bible Church of Ventura, CA. She enjoyed gardening and yellow tulips were her favorite flower. Her first pet was a white cat name Princess. She loved cats and enjoyed the company of many throughout her lifetime, the most recent being Angel.

She is survived by her daughter Jan (Lynn Patrick) Gahagan, granddaughter Claire Gahagan, grandson Matthew Gahagan, sister Arlene Geringer, two nieces, one nephew, and several great nieces and nephews as well as many friends at Lincoln Glen Manor retirement community.

Interment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.

Cecilia L. Rosales, Martha Leticia Lara, Manuel Lara, y Victoria Elizabeth Lara.

Tuvo 13 nietos y 4 bisnietos.

Su segundo matrimonio fue con María Dolores Negrete Aviles – se casaron en 2002.

Cecilio Imigró a los Estados Unidos y trabajo en el Campo de Marchesotti Co. durante 40 años. Fue un hombre muy trabajador, quien le tenia mucho amor a su trabajo como campesino y manejador de Tractores, John Deere. Su amor a la musica, iluminaba la alegria de su corazon y de su familia, y amigos, quien admiraban el gozo que le brindaba la musica.

Era un Predicador leal de las Buenas Nuevas. Sus cualidades bonitas eran su generosidad, respeto y el amor a otras personas. Siempre fue un padre muy trabajador y ejemplar – muy hospitalitalario, y bondadoso.

Cecilio sera recordado con mucho amor, y siempre vivira in nuestros corazones.

LeRoy Damilano

May 18, 1926 - July 10, 2024

LeRoy “Roy” P. Damilano passed away on July 10, 2024, at his home, with friends and family by his side. 

Roy was born in Ripon, CA on May 18, 1926, to father Pietro Damilano and mother Mary Macario. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 18. After his service in the Navy, he attended College of the Pacific (UOP) and graduated with a BA in Business in 1950. He then began his career in the grocery business. Shortly after, he met the love of his life, Joyce Ann Vigh and they married in 1953. 

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his daughter, Karen Vazquez. He is survived by his daughter, Kala Cummings; son-in-laws, Gary Cummings and Adam Vazquez; granddaughters Christine Cummings, Laura Vazquez, and Lianne Vazquez; and great-granddaughters Holly and Ivy Martin.

You are welcome to join Roy’s family on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, at 1 p.m. for a celebration of life, at Cherokee Memorial in the J. Charles Irwin Reception Center located at 14165 Beckman Rd. Lodi, CA 95240. There will be a private viewing and burial.
